Collection: POPPY print

Poppies are a symbol of remembrance. They are also the most delicate, fragile flower that pops up in the most unexpected places. Just recently I saw a poppy in a tiny crack in the tarmac with its stem stretching skyward, rewarding the passing motorists with a cheerful red burst of springtime!

This print is in remembrance of my mom. Tucked away in my sketchbook I found a little envelope safely storing some red poppy seeds collected from my mother’s garden many years ago. A hasty scribble of a poppy flower on the envelope reminded me of its contents. This quick sketch inspired a bold retro print featuring the iconic merry bloom of remembrance.
